Typical Lionel passenger car installation with Universal LEDs (also for Williams and others)

Here's a Lionel B&O 6-19048 passenger car after a quick Universal LED installation (I didn't even pop the top all the way back on).  It took two (2) LED and I utilized the wiring already there.    I didn't remove the incandescent bulbs or related wiring (so to leave the original parts in tact).  Notice how nice and white the illumination is.  This is at 19VAC - which wasn't much different than 8V, which is great.  Many passenger cars at 19/20V are terribly bright.

The original:

Notice illumination at 8V.  Also, it's a little "yellow" which is characteristic on traditional incandescent bulbs.

I popped the top to look inside.  I identified which wires were the bulbs and isolated those.  I chose not to remove them, just wrap them and move them out of the way.  I also kept the bulbs in place, though I would probably remove them so not to block the LEDs.  Because of the wire nuts it was easy to tap into the pickup and truck wires.   The original wiring and bulbs:

Below, I hot glued the LEDs vertically right beside the incandescent bulbs, and then complete the wiring.  Like I said, I would probably remove the bulbs (they just pop out) but I didn't for those who prefer to keep the original in tact.

Here it is illuminated:

Below are 8V pictures; very similar brightness as compared to the 20V LED at the top or the 8V incandescent!

Awesome!
