Circuit Breakers
New convenient four (4) channel circuit breaker box available with
four 10 or 15 circuit breakers and label tape on which you can identify which
"pike" is protected. Order# CB4-XX.
We've had many requests for circuit breakers to use in various applications in lieu
of fuses. Though our input from Bussman and others is that fast blow
fuses are still the fastest device for over amperage (i.e. shorts), there
is a convenience factor of simply pressing button as opposed to changing a fuse
once a circuit has been tripped.
We tested a few different brands and the one that we have selected, from Buss, has
proven to be the most repeatable (i.e. interrupting the circuit and the desired
setting) and fastest resetting (3-4 seconds), though it is a little more
expensive than other brands.
The box is made from "finger duct" and the cover snaps on. This allows
easy access/pass through for wires. Or, if you prefer, mount the cover separately.
Also included is a strip of label tape which can be written on to mark channel
number or other information.
Our circuit breakers are available in 15A (as recommended by MTH® for TIU
protection from older transformers, i.e. ZW), or 10A for those who take a more
conservative view towards maximum amperage they want in their system.
Also, for those few with heavy duty high amperage layouts we do offer 20A
circuit breakers too (special order, allow 2 weeks for shipping).
Yes, the circuit breaker packs are an alternative
for
use with our TVS-4 surge suppressor for total voltage/amperage spike protection.
The circuit breakers would be used instead of the provided in-line fuses.
