Though originally intended for model airplane enthusiasts (for weighting in at meets), this unit has gained much popularity for use for draw pull measurement (see CTT's October issue).  55lbs capacity, 1/10th oz. resolution, ±2% accuracy, one button operation, auto shut off, Lbs/Kgs , & Max weight memory.  9V battery included.  Just add a sling (model airplanes) or piece of wire (trains).

What's the temperature is your train room?  Is the humidity level acceptable?  This cost-effective time, temperature and relative humidity indicator is an invaluable tool.  Use free standing or hang on a wall.  

 



† What is an acceptable humidity level?  Well, it's relative (little joke there).  ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers) recommends a range of  30% - 60% relative humidity.  Also, museums and other places where valuable items are kept try to keep relative humidity variances within 5%.  Our home in South Florida (a very humid area of the country) is typically 43%.  (But don't ask about the garage....)
