BR-1 ACðDC Full Wave Bridge Rectifier w/Barrier Strip
The November 2001 issue of Classic Toy Trains included the feature
article "Do it with Diodes", promoting the use of full wave
bridge rectifiers to convert A/C power to DC power for operating accessories. Why? Referencing
the article from page 85, "On DC power, solenoids run quieter, smoother and
without that annoying buzz". But finding even the recommended part can be a challenge - and then you got to hook it up.
Scott's Odds-n-Ends is now making available the BR-1, which is a 2 amp, 600v
full wave bridge rectifier packaged with a 4 position 15 amp terminal
strip. The terminal strip allows easy hook up.
