Programmable Timing Module
MTR-12T Relay DPDT-1 Relay Programmable Timing Module

UPDATE!!

PTM- 7 Programmable Timing Module - Prototype shown in Pic (91/13/09)

Our new PTM-7  is a multifunction programmable timing module which can be used along with our relays for a variety of timing controlled activities such as block control, start/stop station as well as accessory and train animation.  Program timing functions, both “make” and “break”, from a ¼ second intervals to several hours.  Use for stop/start station applications.  Block control.  Accessory operation.  The possibilities are endless!

Key Benefits

  • 7 Different programmable operating modes
  • On time and Off time is separately programmable
  • Input voltage: 9V – 32V AC or DC
  • Amperage draw: less than 20 mA (plus relay)
  • Output voltage: 12VDC
  • Use with: MTR-12T or DPDT-1 relays
  • Trigger with: Train block or momentary switch (button) Triggers of less than 150ms are considered “nuisance” and ignored
  • Operating modes programmed by DIP switches
  • Delay times are programmed by connecting the control signal input terminals.  The device replicates the connected time
  • Small Size: 3.791 in. x 1.575 in. x .787 in.
  • On / Off delay individually set in ¼ second increments up to 168 hours (!)
  • 1 Year warranty
  • Available Winter '09

Available Program Modes:

Mode

Sample Applications

Delay On Break

(One-shot On)

·      Continue train or accessory activity beyond trigger

·      Crossing gates to stay down longer than block size (i.e. small block, long train)

·      Separate button activates train layout for preset amount of time (i.e. museum or public display)

·      Offset dirty track/light car issues in blocks

·      Latching relay applications like for a Helix

·      Activate and run separate siren and red beacon along with MTH firehouse

Delay on Make

(One-shot delay on)

·      After trigger, accessory delays activity for a preset amount of time

·      After 1st train passes through block, slight programmed delay before start up of 2nd train

One-shot Delay Pulse

·      For train control, allows a preset amount of time before operation of second train, i.e. entering a block.  Action continues for programmed amount or time, and then turns off until triggered again.

·      Stop Station applications where train enters block and stops, then continues on – both timed functions

Continuous Pulse or cycle

·   On / Off light when triggered, operation continues until triggered again

·   Operate train for a preset amount of time, off for a preset, and then repeat.  Trigger on and off with a momentary switch.

·   Blink between 2 lights with additional relay (i.e. MTR-12T)

Non-Interrupting one-shot on

·   Accessory or train is activated and stays activated for preset period even if control signal (trigger) is interrupted

·

Non-interrupting one-shot delay pulse

·   Just like the one-shot delay pulse BUT the program will continue even if control input changes

Non-interrupting resetting one-shot on

·
