TVS-4 wiring Diagrams

Here are a few wiring examples to use as guidelines.   We show  Lionel ZW, but any transformer can be used and multiple transformers can be used with a single TVS-4.

This is one of the easiest hook-ups.  Note ground wire is connected to house ground which in this case in center screw of a wall outlet.  If you use a terminal strip, use a metal one because the center screws tie into house ground, too.

In this DCS example we connect one channel as variable voltage (i.e. conventional operation) and one fixed voltage for DCS.

With TMCC the Command base is connected to the common post transformer.

With Star wiring you need to jump the commons and tie them together.

The TVS-4 can be hooked up before a Power Distribution Block, but for more "Localized Protection", that is closer to the fault. connect multiple units after the PDB.  (In this case we show a PDB made by Miniatronics and sold by MTH, but any terminal strip combination can be used.

More examples to come later...
